Scat- REVIEW

Julie's Review of
Scat by Carl Hiaasen

Imagine a tween mystery novel mixed with humor, a beautiful South Florida setting, and a mission to save Florida Panthers. That’s right, you guessed it! Carl Hiaasen is at it again with his new young adult novel, Scat. Most people know Carl Hiaasen from his New York Times bestseller, Hoot, which became a major motion picture in 2006. This time around Carl continues his mission to save endangered species by highlighting a 9th grader from Naples named Nick and his best friend, Marta. While on a field trip to the Black Vine Swamp, Nick’s biology teacher, Mrs. Starch, gets lost in the woods. The two teens think that the class bully, Smoke has something to do with it, but little do they know what’s really going on. Along the way you meet an oilman who’s drilling on illegal property where a panther resides. When you read this book, you’re in for a thrilling adventure and you’ll definitely learn a lesson or two. Fans of Hiaasen’s other books will definitely enjoy this one!

(This book comes out in January)

It's a wonderful book. I've read the last part last night and it was an important clue for me. I really appreciate this kind of works.
