Amy Krouse Rosenthal Q&A!

If you are child or mother of one, you may know Amy from her picture books. If you are an older teen or adult, you may know her from her Encyclopedia of an Ordinary Life. If know what the Beckoning of Lovely is, you'll know her from that. And if you are a Nerdfighter, you may know her as John's friend who started the 8/8/08 gathering in Chicago at the Bean sculpture (Which was part of the Beckoning of Lovely).

Anyway you know her, we were lucky enough to meet and ask Amy our usual questions and a few others:

If someone suddenly threw a wad of twenty thousand dollars at you, what would you do?
I would definitely do something with interactive experiments. I would ask for it in 10s and give them to random people with a game, not yet determined, attached.

Who pwns everything?
Ziggy

If 'they' decided to make a movie of your life, which actress would you want to play you?

My sister, even though she's not an actress, because people say we look a like. We're like twins.

What's the most random question you can think of? Answer it.

Can you say all the states in alphabetical order in 17 seconds?

Yes.

Can you do the Time Warp again?

With a little visual assistance... I can do the Hoedown Throwdown, my daughter loves it.

How awesome was 8/8/08?

Beyond description. The entire weekend I kept saying out loud. "Oh my God," that that actually happened.

What started the Beckoning of Lovely?

Well, I made a video, The Story (so far), about it (below). The short version is it started May 25th when I saw read about the Flip camera in the New York Times. I then started playing with it.

At some point I may write a YA book, but don't hold me to that.

Amy Krouse Rosenthal

If you are a Nerdfighter, then you probably have heard of Amy, even if you don't think so. She's the one who organized the 8/8/08 event at the bean sculpture in Chicago for her project, The Beckoning of Lovely!

Here's the video from the event to spark your memory or just to see what it was in the first place:

She's also a children book author and has written an adult book as well.

Well, she'll be at Books & Books on April 11th and here's a video she made for her tour:
